Cotton Alley travels up a gravel road into a world where slave ghosts
are very present and folk's little secrets keep them haunted. And
Avery Rose is knee high in Cotton and tired of the isolation of her
world. This young lady, who is dealing with her grannie's passing is
now faced with the return of her neglected mother. But is her mother's
forgiveness the reconciliation what Avery needs for not knowing her
Father and not being loved by her mother?
In the end, Avery's discovery may not come from the saying that blood is
thicker than water. It may come from a source much deeper than that, a
source of love that allows the spirit to be thicker than all the years of
